The works to the Scientific Conference

The Scientific Conference "Privatization of Public Enterprises in Kosovo - options, lessons, benefits and challenges" held today at AAB-RIINVEST, is the first scientific conference organized by AAB-RIINVEST after the integration of this university.

The inaugural speeches to this conference had the Rector Dr. Uros Lipuscek and the Prorector for Research, Prof. Dr. Muhamet Sadiku. "This conference aims to sensitize once again the opinion and to raise the academic and scientific concerns by creating a scientific platform for the success of this process," said Prof. Dr. Muhamet Sadiku whereas the Rector Lipuscek considers this conference as very important one for the privatization sector of public enterprises and also as a key precondition for the success and stability of Kosovo's further development.
In this conference the privatization of public enterprises was treated in legal terms, economic and international experiences were also discussed.
While discussing this topic in legal terms, Dr.Korab Sejdiu from AAB-RIINVEST said that the laws should ensure that the privatization is transparent, consistent and without any political influence, in order to avoid abuses, corruption or conflicts of interest.

Whereas, Dr.Agim Nuhiu from Tetovo University in his topic "Legal Effects of shares in ownership transformation of public enterprises in Macedonia," said that shares have contributed significantly to the introduction of joint stock companies in Macedonia as a very important form of commercial companies and that they are part of the capital of the joint stock company.

According to Mr. Alban Hashani the political support is a prerequisite for a successful process, "It is not a coincidence that privatization happens almost exclusively in democratic societies" stressed Mr. Hashani.

Further panelists in this conference were also Dr. Bedri Peci from the University of Pristina, Dr.Seadin Xhaferi from AAB-RIINVEST, Vito Intini World Bank Office in Kosovo, Mr.Visar Kelmendi, MBA and Dr. Jordan Berginc (GEA College of Entrepreneurship, Piran, Slovenia), who contributed many opinions about the privatization of public enterprises in Kosovo.

The conference was closed after the questions and comments of the participants.

The purpose of their stay is to maintain practical lectures of the subject “Skiing” that are obligatory for each student of this faculty. Graduation ceremony of the first-generation of the Faculty of Criminalistics Organized by the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies of the University of Sarajevo, today at AAB-RIINVEST University was held the ceremony of promotion and distribution of diplomas for the first generation of this faculty. On this occasion a large number of parents, students and numerous guests, had the opportunity to participate in the solemn ceremony organized for the graduates.
